Swimming Carnival (Grade 3-6)

Our Grade 3–6 students will take part in our annual Swimming Carnival, a fantastic day focused on participation, teamwork, and fun in the water.

The carnival is designed to ensure that all students can be involved, regardless of their swimming ability. We will utilise the shallow end of the pool and run a variety of activities across the pool to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can participate with confidence.

Our Grade 5 and 6 students are heading off to Melbourne for an unforgettable three-day City Camp experience through Doxa! This camp gives students the chance to explore exciting parts of the city, learn real-world skills, and build independence — all while having heaps of fun with classmates and teachers.

Throughout the camp, students will take part in a range of activities and excursions around Melbourne. From visiting famous attractions and cultural sites, to navigating the city on trams, every moment is designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, teamwork, and resilience. It’s the perfect blend of learning and adventure!

What students can expect:
• Hands-on activities and guided excursions across Melbourne
• Opportunities to build leadership, independence, and friendships
• Comfortable accommodation and delicious meals provided

We are excited to welcome representatives from the Carlton Football Club to Mooroopna Primary School for a special student session. This visit provides students with a fun and inspiring opportunity to connect with a professional sporting organisation and learn from real-life role models.

We are excited to welcome all students back to school on Tuesday 28th January for the first day of the 2026 school year! This special day marks the beginning of new learning adventures, new friendships, and another year of growth at Mooroopna Primary School.

Students will spend the morning meeting their teachers, reconnecting with friends, and settling into their new classrooms and routines. Our focus for the day is on creating a positive, calm, and welcoming start for everyone.

Colour + Slime Run

Get ready for a day of colour, laughter, and messy fun! Our Colour & Slime Run is a non-competitive fun run for students, families, and staff. Where the goal isn’t to be the fastest, but to have the most fun!

Along the course, participants will be showered with bursts of colourful powder and splashed with slime, creating a bright and unforgettable experience for everyone. Whether you walk, jog, or sprint, you’ll cross the finish line covered head to toe in colour and smiles!

Event Highlights:

Project Rockit Incursion - Grade 3-6

Project Rockit Incursion - Grade 3-6

From 9:00am to 3:20pm, our students in Years 3 to 6 will take part in a full-day Project Rockit incursion aimed at empowering them to be respectful, confident, and proactive in creating a kinder school community. Through engaging, youth-led workshops, students will explore topics such as bullying (online and offline), inclusion, digital wellbeing, empathy, and leadership.

During the day, students will:

  • Participate in interactive sessions and small-group discussions facilitated by trained youth presenters

  • Explore real-life scenarios and role-play strategies to respond to bullying or exclusion

  • Build skills for positive online behaviour and safe digital relationships

  • Develop a stronger sense of belonging, responsibility, and agency within their peer groups

This incursion is aligned with Project Rockit’s mission of helping students build the confidence and tools needed to challenge bullying and foster empathy and inclusion in their communities.

What to bring:
Water bottle, hat, notebook (optional), and a readiness to engage openly and respectfully.

Why we’re doing this:
Project Rockit is a recognised, evidence-based program used in schools across Australia to support students in building resilience, empathy, and socially inclusive behaviour.
